E-Statements FAQs

Q: What do "E-Statements" cost?
A: There is no fee for receiving your statements electronically.

Q: What is an "E-Statement"?
A: With this enhancement to shareNET you can now see your regular account statement online. You don't have to wait for the mail to arrive with your paper statement. We will make it available for you to view electronically.

Q: Is this secure?
A: Yes. To view your electronic statement you must log on to shareNET. This provides the same protection and security that you currently experience using the credit union's other online services.

Q: Will I continue to get my statement by US Postal Service mail?
A: No. Once you sign up for E-Statements you will no longer get a paper copy of your statement.

Q: How do I sign up?
A: It's simple. After logging on to shareNET, go to "Additional Services" on the top menue bar.  Click "E-statements" in the drop down box. This will walk you through viewing and printing the "Electronic Services Agreement", and completing the "e-statement application".

Q: Do I need to send my application to the credit union, or can it be completed electronically?
A: It's all done electronically! There is no need to contact the credit union unless you have questions.

Q: I did not print the "Electronic Services Agreement" before clicking on "sign me up!". Can I view it online?
A: Yes. The "Electronic Services Agreement" is available on our website, www.nswcfcuonline.org. You can print it using the printer icon on your browser.

Q: How soon after signing up will I be able to view my statement?
A: As statements are produced at the end of each month, you will not see your first statement until the first week of the month following your sign up. Any "e-statement sign ups" received before the last week of the month will be activated for that month.

Q: How will I know that you have received my "e-statement sign up"?
A: Once we have received your "e-statement sign up", we will send you a confirmation e-mail. If you do not receive this e-mail within five business days, please contact the credit union.

Q: How do I know that my e-statement is ready for viewing?
A: Once we have placed your e-statement online for viewing we will notify you by e-mail. It is then ready for your immediate viewing by logging in to shareNET.

Q: How long will this take?
A: On average, your statement should be ready for viewing by the fourth business day of the following month.

Q: Do I require any special computer of software to view my e-statement?
A: The requirements for viewing e-statements are that you have access to shareNET, an active e-mail account, and that Adobe Acrobat® Readertm 4.0 or higher installed on your computer (e-statements are in PDF format). Adobe Acrobat® Readerâ„¢ is available for you to download free in shareNET. You may also need to update your browser to the latest version.

Q: I received an error message when I tried to open my statement.
A: Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of Adobe Acrobat® Readertm and your browser, and try again.

Q: Is my e-statement the same as the one I would have received in the regular mail?
A: Yes. Your e-statement is a duplicate of the one you would have received by mail if you were still getting paper statements.

Q: What do I do if there is a discrepancy in my e-statement?
A:Just as with your paper statement, your e-statement contains disclosures giving a lot of important information concerning your statement. These disclosures set forth the procedures you would follow in this instance, and can be accessed by clicking on the "Important Information from your Credit Union" link on the E-statement selection screen.

Q: How long can I see my e-statements online?
A:Once an e-statement is placed online it will remain there for 24 months. After having participated in e-statements for 24 months you will have a rolling 24 months of statements online for your convenience.

Q: Can I print my e-statement, or download it to my computer?
A: When you select your e-statement for viewing the image is a PDF file that is opened in Adobe Acrobat® Readertm. Using the tool bar in Adobe Acrobat® Readertm you can print your e-statement or save it to a file in your computer. You can even send it to another e-mail address.

Q: What if I change my e-mail address?
A:You can easily update your e-mail address online. After logging on to shareNET, select "My Profile" at the top right of the screen. On this screen there is a link to update your e-mail address. Remember, it is your responsibility to update us with any changes to your e-mail address. If we are not updated we can not be responsible for delivering your e-statement notification to the proper e-mail address.

Q: What if I decide I would rather get my statement by regular mail?
A: If at anytime you would like to stop e-statements and return to getting a paper statement it is as simple as notifying us. You may withdraw your consent and agreement to receive e-statements by calling, writing or e-mailing the credit union as follows:
